Dermal Fillers

Refresh Your Look: Restore Lost Facial Volume!

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments that restore volume and fullness to the face, including the cheeks and lips. They can also soften facial wrinkles and folds, giving you a smoother and more youthful appearance. We at AlDa Aesthetics on the South Shore use Juvéderm® and Restylane products to lift, smooth and plump your way to subtle results that last.

What are dermal fillers made of?

Juvéderm® and Restylane fillers are made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that already exists in the human body and is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin. The hyaluronic acid comes in a crystal-clear gel called NASHATM, or Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid. NASHA is biodegradable and completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid.

How do dermal fillers differ from BOTOX®?

Juvéderm® and Restylane are natural, cosmetic fillers. In contrast, BOTOX® is a drug that blocks nerve transmission and relaxes the underlying muscles. Many patients have been very pleased after receiving treatment with both products.

How will dermal fillers make you look younger?

Dermal fillers act to refresh your appearance, restore facial volume loss, provide facial contouring for improved symmetry, and plump the skin due to loss of collagen, elastin and fat. We specialize in Juvéderm® and Restylane products manufactured by the leading pharmaceutical companies.

Are fillers safe?

Yes, Juvéderm® and Restylane have been used safely by dermatologists and plastic surgeons for decades. Because both brands are non-animal based and fully biocompatible, allergy testing is not required. There is virtually no risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reaction. The most commonly reported side effects are temporary redness and swelling at the injection site, and these effects typically resolve within 2-3 days.

What will happen when you get dermal fillers?

Our aesthetic nurse injector will carefully assess your patterns of volume loss, recommend a customized treatment plan, and select the most appropriate dermal filler for optimum results and correction. Treatment time varies with minimal to zero downtime. Advanced techniques are performed to minimize bruising and promote optimal patient comfort. You’ll be able to resume your normal daily activities straight after the treatment.

When can you expect results from dermal fillers?

Expect to see immediate results that last for six months to two years, depending on product choice; however, each patient is unique, and the length of your results will depend on how quickly your body metabolizes the product.* Eventually, dermal fillers do leave the system and touch-up treatments are recommended.
