Frequently asked questions

We recommend the following:

  1. Wash your face with cool water
  2. Moisturize and hydrate with fragrance-free, mild moisturizer
  3. Apply sunscreen every two hours and avoid sun exposure
  4. Avoid working out, sweating, or entering a pool or hot tub for at least 48 hours to avoid infection
  5. Avoid exfoliating skin products for at least one week

It can take up to 14 days to recover from a chemical peel. It’s important that you hydrate and protect your skin during this time, and don’t try to rush the process by peeling away dead skin before it’s ready to fall.

Results will vary depending on the strength of the peel.

A mild or superficial peel will have little-to-no visible peeling.

With stronger peels, patients can expect some redness, skin tightening, and slight sensitivity post-procedure. Visible peeling is to be expected a few days after the peel, and you should see results in as little as seven days. We recommend you follow the post-care instructions provided.

While most patients tolerate chemical peels with only minor discomfort, it’s normal to experience a slight burning sensation for 5-10 minutes. A fan gently blows cool air on the skin during the treatment to alleviate any feelings of burning or stinging.

However, if you are particularly sensitive to skin treatments, then it’s important to discuss other pain management methods with your esthetician before starting your treatment.

Immediately after your treatment, your skin will feel dry and tight. It typically takes 48 hours for the skin to begin peeling. After this process is complete, you will see a gradual improvement in your skin tone and texture.

It depends on the chemical peel and your skin condition, but we typically suggest our patients book one chemical peel every three months (depending on their other skin treatments).
