How Medical Weight Loss Works

Hereโ€™s what to expect from our Medical Weight Loss Program at ALDA:

01.

A Nurse Practitioner (NP) conducts a thorough 45-minute screening and evaluation. We draw labs, ask questions, and thoroughly review your medical history to make sure youโ€™re the perfect fit.

02.

For the first four weeks of your treatment, you will receive weekly medication injections in-clinic. After this initial adjustment period, you will begin to self-administer your medication, slowly increasing your dose.

03.

The medicine for weight loss works immediately, decreasing your appetite and balancing your blood sugar levels. Youโ€™ll continue to see us once per month so we can check on your progress and give you a B12 energy boost.

Frequently asked questions

Obesity is a chronic condition with substantial health implications, and it deserves the same degree of medical care that other chronic health conditions receive. Weight loss pills and injections are not the only treatment options available to patients struggling with obesity, but they can be especially helpful when lifestyle changes just arenโ€™t cutting it.

If youโ€™re ready to lose stubborn belly fat, it may be time to consider a medically-assisted weight loss program.

GLP-1s are a once-weekly injection for chronic weight management.ย

We source compounded GLP-1s through Hallandale Pharmacy, a reputable custom pharmacy that undergoes rigorous testing to safely administer this and other medications.ย

The GLP-1 we selected over other popular weight loss injections is because it generally causes fewer side effects. Nausea, dehydration, and bowel obstruction are much less common with our GLP-1 agonist than others.

  • The best way to ask your doctor for weight loss medication is to simply have an open and honest conversation with them about the challenges you have faced while pursuing your weight loss goals.
  • One of the reasons why we offer weight loss reduction pills at ALDA is because we are passionate about creating an empathetic and judgment-free space for our patients to discuss their health concerns.
  • We want to see you succeed, and we are prepared to provide guidance, support, and encouragement as you tackle this challenge for the benefit of your health.

  • GLP-1 receptor agonist-based therapies are not a good fit for patients with a history of pancreatitis, type 1 diabetes, or a personal or family history of thyroid cancer.

  • We offer this treatment as part of a 12-week, 24-week, or 48-week program. We will collaborate to decide which program is the best fit for you after a comprehensive evaluation of your health history and weight loss goals.

  • GLP-1 agonists are approved for chronic weight management: a designation that can only be acquired through rigorous safety testing.ย
  • Additionally, clinical data clearly and consistently shows that obesity can have a serious impact on your health.
  • You deserve to be healthy, and treatments like GLP-1 receptor agonists exist so you can improve your quality of life and overall well-being.

  • We do not accept health insurance for this or other treatments. However, we do offer payment assistance.
